Di\u011fer tarafta ise,  \u201c\u00e7\u00f6k\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u201d ve ya\u015fam\u0131n yoksulla\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n g\u00f6stergesi olan nihilizm vard\u0131r,  buna da \u201cpasif nihilizm\u201d der. Fakat bu iki arzu t\u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fcn de, yak\u0131ndan  incelendiklerinde, mu\u011flak olduklar\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr. Y\u0131kma, de\u011fi\u015ftirme ve olu\u015f  arzusu, i\u00e7inde gelece\u011fi ta\u015f\u0131yan ta\u015fk\u0131n bir enerjinin ifadesi olabilir  (ben buna \u201cDionysos\u00e7u\u201d arzu diyorum). Ama var olan her \u015fey, b\u00fct\u00fcn  varolu\u015f, onlar\u0131 \u00f6fkeden kudurttu\u011fu ve tahrik etti\u011fi i\u00e7in y\u0131kan,  y\u0131kmaktan ba\u015fka \u00e7aresi olmayan reddedilmi\u015flerin ve mahrum kalm\u0131\u015flar\u0131n  nefretinin ifadesi de olabilir. Bu duyguyu anlamak i\u00e7in anar\u015fistlerimize  yak\u0131ndan bakman\u0131z yeterli. \u00d6l\u00fcms\u00fczle\u015ftirme arzusunu da iki t\u00fcrl\u00fc  yorumlayabiliriz. Y\u00fcce g\u00f6n\u00fcll\u00fcl\u00fck ve sevgiyle harekete ge\u00e7mi\u015f bir arzu  olabilir. Ama ayn\u0131 zamanda, derin \u0131st\u0131rap \u00e7ekenin, s\u00fcrekli azap ve eza  i\u00e7inde k\u0131vranan\u0131n, \u0131st\u0131rab\u0131n\u0131n sadece ona \u00f6zg\u00fc olan yan\u0131n\u0131 yasa haline  getirmek isteyenin zorbaca istenci de olabilir: Bu ki\u015fi, dokundu\u011fu her  \u015feyin \u00fczerine kendi imgesini, \u0131st\u0131rab\u0131n\u0131n imgesini nak\u015federek \u00f6c\u00fcn\u00fc  al\u0131r. Bu, en u\u00e7 haliyle romantik k\u00f6t\u00fcmserliktir \u2013 ister Schopenhauer\u2019in  isten\u00e7 felsefesi olun, isterse Wagner\u2019in m\u00fczi\u011fi, romantik k\u00f6t\u00fcmserlik  k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcm\u00fcz\u00fcn kaderindeki son b\u00fcy\u00fck olayd\u0131r.
